WHO WE ARE
Global Lessons partners with a diverse range of philanthropic partners, public and private organizations, and concerned citizens who share our interest in promoting people-centered development initiatives. Our global perspectives are firmly rooted in local realities. We help strengthen policy and strategy development, implementation, communication and evaluation that is cognizant of and responsive to ever-changing contexts.
WHAT WE DO
Guided by the fundamental values of integrity, service, collaboration and continuous improvement; our diverse and complementary professional practices enable us to offer proven, reliable, high quality services. At present the key portfolio areas for Global Lessons include:
Ø Planning for programme performance improvement (strategic planning efforts, working with community partners, and provide training and technical assistance in policy evaluation).
Ø Promoting policy development and implementation, with emphasis on strategies that place people in charge of their own development.
Ø Supporting entities to manage change within the policy and programme cycles
Ø Organization capacity strengthening-- we work with organizations to help them establish accountability systems through the organization, identifying evaluation goals and metrics for every subgroup within the organization.
Ø We lead audit and strategy in partnership with on the ground expertise to bring local insight to each engagement.
HOW WE DO IT
We employ international best practice(s), blending these with local experience and in-depth public sector knowledge. With our proven experience in low, middle and high income countries at community, district, provincial and national levels we are able to leverage globally garnered lessons and package these for various contexts based on relevance and appropriateness. We honor the different cultures, values, and contexts in which our clients and their beneficiaries live. In addition;
Ø Our expertise spans policy analysis, strategy development and review, managing change and strategic evaluation and learning.
Ø Our combined deep expertise and global exposure at all levels of society enables us to constructively challenge underlying assumptions that may negate the centrality of people to lead their own development (or people-centred development).
Ø We apply a wide range of planning approaches to help programs turn ideas into effective action; we aim to disrupt silos thinking, and harness collective resources to cultivate systemic change. We support knowledge transfer in order to strengthen/promote ownership of development interventions by citizens in developing and transitional economies.
Ø We are defined by rigorous analytical skills, bringing together academic thinking and practical experience to offer context-specific and evidence-based advice. We draw on our collective experience, including partnering regularly with our family of skilled consultants, across several countries and sectors, to deliver a wide range of interventions.
Ø We recognize that in increasingly complex operating environments, the needs and circumstances of our clients can rapidly evolve. We strive to be adaptive and flexible in the roll-out and delivery of our commitments and we work with our partners to ensure that our recommendations and end products are always appropriate and responsive to the needs of our stakeholders, clients and end-users.
Ø We promote stakeholder engagement: We believe that the best approach is participatory, learning-oriented, and is timely and relevant, premised on tapping into local expertise and networks. This approach extends to those we wish to serve, whose voices, needs, and perspectives inform our work. We have deep understanding and insight through years of first-hand interaction with local community groups, government departments and NGOs. We understand that outcomes tend to improve when cooperation is based on mutual knowledge and respect and a successful history of working together. We also pursue strategic partnerships with a few companies/firms with whom we share a common history.
Ø We thrive in emergent and complex environments: We have developed evaluation tools and processes that allow us to provide useful support in complex environments where strategies are emergent. We continuously monitor the field for best practices and additional resources to include in our work.
Ø We provide proven leadership in integrating developing and/or elaborating strategic audit focus in organizational change initiatives for
